about me

First about yoga and me

I attended my first yoga class in the early 1970s having been unwell for three years. Within six weeks of yoga once a week, and practising whatever I could remember at home, a debilitating medical condition was completely cleared. I vividly remember standing at the door on arrival for the first yoga class, being aware that “this was for the rest of my life”.

I was clumsy, unco-ordinated, had no muscle tone, and giggled all of the time for my few few classes. But I loved it all so much. It made me feel so good. From my first class on, I practised at home. Not great long marathons, because I had a family, a home, a partner, and I worked. But, I did what I could, as I could, getting up a bit early each day to do so.

diving into deep spirituality

On New Year’s Eve 1982 I was initiated into Poorna Sannyasa (Swami).  I then spent seven years of Ashram living and training. It was incredibly intense. 24/7. I learnt so much, and was one of the senior teachers there.

In the years following, I just kept going. Teaching, learning, practising. Over the following three decades, I trained hundreds of yoga students, from beginning movement through to advanced practices, yoga teachers, natal teachers, birthing educators. Gave lectures, wrote articles. Wrote and taught four aclaimed yoga teacher training courses.

My two main areas of expertise and knowledge lie with
  • training yoga teachers. I am quite caring about this.
  • And also within understanding and applying the deeply spiritual systems and techniques of yoga. Because this is where my true passion lies, within the deepest aspects of spirituality. All of the realms and chakras. Kundalini.

I became a healer, and clairvoyant

Then, unexpectedly, about twenty-seven years ago, I was persuaded (unwillingly) to become an aura healer. I entered a new world where all of my knowledge was channelled not only into the yoga, but also healing. As time went on, I taught aura healing in weekend workshops, and gave talks about it, too.

I discovered, through the healing, by accident, that I was clairvoyant. I could see the past, going back thousands of years, and I could see the future. So I have used this with regression (past life healing), healings, and clairvoyant readings.

And a Maori healer

I also became a student and practitioner of The Ancient Lore of Wananga, the timeless teachings of deep spirituality of Maori, about twelve years ago. It fulfils me on so many levels, and was a natural progression with the deep spirituality which I had been immersed in for so long.

Along with this, is the Maori healing. Romiromi and Mirimiri, which, like Wananga, has been passed down through the ages. This has been the natural progression of my spiritual journey. It is my passion.

I donate quite a lot of time to working in a clinic, Ngakau Ora, as my way of "giving back". This is something I believe in so strongly, and because I love healing so much.

Who am I?

Just a proud mum, grandmother, great grandmother, and a friend, student, healer, teacher. A seeker of truth, who loves to Dance In The Light of The Divine.
