Crystals and healing

The Titirangi Maori Healing Clinic reopens Monday evenings on the 13th January. 5.30-8.30pm.

We do Maori healing

We are long time practitioners of Romiromi and Mirimiri. And we are constantly updating our learning with this, with one of our healers, Carolyn de Silva, who has almost twenty years experience and knowledge that is seldom now taught.

Birthday crystals from Carolyn. Smoky quartz on the left, and selenite (my favourite crystal) on the right.

And we also work with crystals and chakras

Carolyn also does Chakra balancing with crystals. It's not widely known that Papa Joe (Joseph Delamere) had a chakra wananga. (a wananga is a time/place of learning) I wish that I had gone to it, but of course I wasn't involved before his Passing. Although all of Carolyn and my learning of Maori healing was from his teachings, via Ruatau Perez and Audie Beazely, two of his former students.

So, chakras are a quiet, largely unknown area of Maatauranga Maori (Maori knowledge).

Papa Joe was a great Tohunga. Loved and revered by all. A Tohunga has deep, mystical knowledge in their field/s of which they are an expert. And a Tohunga is usually chosen. So it just doesn't work for someone to call themselves one.

We have been so blessed to have learnt all that we did, and to have steadily been practising it for a very long time.

I use the pounamu quite often. Even though they're rather small, they are potent. The cloudy quartz is in the middle.

Using crystals and stones

We use pounamu (greenstone) in our clinic. This is such a special stone as it has healing properties. And pounamu is very soothing when it's worn so that it rests on where the heart chakra is in the aura.

And the crystals used are mainly from Aotearoa, New Zealand. Carolyn's father was a rockhound, and she grew up with crystal knowledge.

We also sell crystals in our clinic, and rongoa/plant teas which have been picked in accordance with The Old Ways.

Balancing our chakras

People often worry that their chakras are unbalanced. On the deeper, spiritual level of the hidden aspects of the chakras, they are never unbalanced. However, in the aura, yes, most certainly they can be not only unbalanced, but a bit skew-wif, and even broken. When they're, for example, drooping, that usually indicates something on the mental/emotional level that is happening in one's life. When they are broken, or parts missing, this is to do with health issues.

So, what can we do about this? Have a crystal balance session. It will really help restore the chakras in the aura. And you will feel wonderful during and after.

Do I use crystals in healing?

I have, for about thirty years. Not many, just a few. And not always. They do help amplify a healing.

  1. Hi, Swami Ratnamurti - I live far from you in the world, but this post has nuggets of helpful information that I find fascinating. I am now working on my solar plexus chakra at the advice of an Akashic records healer. I have a collection of yellow-based crystals to wear and some next to my bed with selenite. I'll be doing solar plexus chakra yoga sessions once in awhile and I listen to solar plexus affirmations daily. Thanks for sharing your world of experience! - Angie, www.yourtrueselfblog.com

  2. Those crystals look like they could heal some things, however I always find a tub of double chocolate ice cream does the trick for a fraction of the cost.

  3. I have some beautiful crystals and rocks in my yard at the cabin. The Earth has such a powerful vibration there. The soil is filled with rocks and tall, mature trees.
