emotions and Maori healing/Romiromi

Where do our difficult emotions reside inside of us?

Emotions/kare a roto, hide in specific parts of the body.

They hide in the acupressure points, which are situated on energy lines, known as meridians/haemata. These acupressure points are like reservoirs of either energy or emotions, and there are hundreds of them. When trauma hides in one of these points (usually more than one!), then the life-force/Mauri which is meant to be part of that point, is blocked. It is blocked by emotional pain. It is blocked and holds in that pain and the memories that go with that pain. As you can imagine, this affects our life on so many levels.

It is difficult for the energy body/ tinana puungao, to shine in it's full glory, with all of these blockages.

How does Maori healing deal with them?

In a myriad of ways. The
most obvious in Maori healing modalities, are

Romiromi: uses deep pressure, massage, and stretching, which all have a profound effect on releasing tension of any sort from the body. This is the main modality used, and it's very effective for body/tinana; mind/hinengaro; and spirit/wairua.

Mirimiri: this is a softer form and is excellent for people recovering from anything; older people; deep stress whereby one feels as though a harder touch would be just too much.
It is sometimes non-physical, but not always, and deals with energy. Often karakia is used here, although karakia is also used in Romiromi.

Toxins can accumulate from our disturbed emotions which we have suppressed, affecting organs and such, and our organs can be affected. Can you imagine what a lifetime of heartbreak does to our heart, for example?

Our ancestral line/whakapapa, plays a part, too

Or to have happened to our ancestors/tupuna? This is frequently carried down through generations, and in over thirty years of being a healer, to be honest, it is the only way that I have found (thanks to my teacher Ruatau Perez), to access and correct these situations.

This is just a little korero about what some of what we do at Ngakau Ora Titirangi on Monday nights.

More about Maori healing, and aura healing, too here, and another about using crystals in our clinic.

More about what we do at Ngakau Ora Titirangi here. On Monday evenings except for Public Holidays, 5.30 - 8.30pm, $40/30 minutes. Look us up on Facebook, too.
